Young Adult Tobacco Prevention Leadership Conference

CYAN’s Young Adult Tobacco Prevention Leadership (YATPL) Conference is designed for any college and university students, young adult interns, or TRDRP student researchers aged 18–29 who are interested in the tobacco policy landscape affecting California communities, colleges, and universities, as well as developing the skills to collaborate with local partners, community members, and decision-makers on tobacco prevention issues. The YATPL conference strives to connect like-minded young adults with peers who are passionate about health policy, grassroots mobilization, and working with communities and stakeholders to advance informed tobacco prevention policies.
Event Details
The conference will be held on: Friday, October 23, through Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Sacramento, California at the Holiday Inn in Downtown Commons. The final agenda for the conference will be available late August. Each conference day includes a mix of learning new content, hearing from keynote speakers, and professional development opportunities.
Participants
There will be limited seating for this conference. Young adults ages 18-29, specifically college and university students, public health/policy interns, and/or TRDRP student researchers are eligible to apply. Community college students and interns are strongly encouraged to apply.
Cost
There is no cost to attend this event. CYAN will provide all participants with food (breakfast and lunch only), travel costs, and lodging at the Holiday Inn free of cost.

The deadline to apply is Sunday, September 6, 2026.
